Job summary

The Solecki Lab at St. Jude Children's Research Hospital is recruiting postdoctoral fellows to develop and apply advanced microscopy to study chromatin-state transitions in developing neurons.

Fellows will work at the interface of live-cell imaging, chromatin biology, quantitative image analysis, and developmental neuroscience. Ideal candidates have a PhD in a related field and experience with live-cell imaging, advanced microscopy, and imaging probe development.

Qualifications

• PhD in cell biology, biophysics, gene regulation, neuroscience or related discipline.
• Experience in live-cell imaging, advanced microscopy, super-resolution microscopy, lattice light-sheet, or imaging probe development.
• Interest in applying imaging-based approaches to chromatin organization and neuronal differentiation.
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with segmentation, tracking, time-series analysis, or automated image-processing workflows is desirable.
• Experience with fluorescent probes, biosensors, HaloTag/SNAP-tag systems, protein engineering, or live-cell assay development is desirable.
• Excellent experimental preparation, validation, documentation, and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply imaging-based biosensor platforms to study chromatin-state dynamics in living neurons.
• Optimize biosensor performance, microscopy acquisition, and quantitative analysis of epigenetic modifications and nuclear organization.
• Work with live-cell imaging, lattice light-sheet and/or super-resolution microscopy to study neuronal differentiation.
• Contribute to probes, assays, imaging strategies, perturbation workflows, and analysis pipelines.
• Define major projects within the lab and publish first-author results.
