Oak Ridge National Laboratory (ORNL) invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in the Biological Systems Design Group. The position focuses on genetic and molecular mechanisms of fungal interactions with lithium-bearing minerals, employing genome engineering in filamentous fungi and functional genomics.

Qualificações

• Ph.D. in fungal genetics, microbiology, mycology, molecular biology, or related field.
• Applicants cannot have received the most recent degree more than five years prior to the date of application and must complete all degree requirements before starting their appointment.
• Experience with manipulating filamentous fungi preferred.
• Experience with developing gene editing tools for non-domesticated fungal species preferred.
• Experience with synthetic biology tools for fungi preferred.
• Experience with designing vectors for versatile gene manipulation in fungi preferred.
• Experience generating and analyzing large datasets preferred.
• Strong publication record and effective written/presentation skills preferred.
