Job summary

The Wistar Institute invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Fellow to join the laboratory of Dr. Brian Fuglestad in the Center for Advanced Therapeutics.

The project focuses on expanding molecular study of peripheral membrane proteins and developing new strategies for drug discovery. The fellow will advance hits to chemical probes and potential drug leads, with emphasis on synthesis and testing of inhibitor analogs.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemistry, Medicinal Chemistry, or related field is required.
• Candidates should have at least one first-author peer-reviewed publication.
• Experience with synthetic or medicinal chemistry is required, with preference for biophysical or biochemical protein assays.

Responsibilities

• Advance initial screening hits to active chemical probes and toward drug leads.
• Iterative synthesis and testing of inhibitor analogs to inhibit peripheral membrane protein targets.
• Collaborate with biochemists and biophysicists to validate targets and assay systems.
• Contribute to project planning and interpretation of structure–activity relationships.
