Job summary

Augusta University, Immunology Center of Georgia, invites applications for a PhD-qualified researcher to join our team focusing on cardiovascular genetics and immune-genomic approaches. The role combines in silico and lab work, collaborating with national and international partners to advance discovery and publications.

The candidate will work with GWAS, single-cell sequencing, and molecular techniques, supervise students, and contribute to data-intensive projects in a dynamic, mission-driven

Qualifications

• Ph.D. degree from an accredited college or university.
• Ph.D. degree in computational biology (bioinformatics, genomics, etc.).
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and other computer software/databases.
• Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Interest in or have a good command of bioinformatics or computational biology.
• Application of GWAS, molecular QTL, precision medicine, Single-cell RNA and ATACseq, Single-cell CRISPR screening techniques.
• Genetics and biology of cardiovascular diseases.
• Collaborating with computational and wet-lab biologists for mechanism elucidation.
• Preparing written and oral presentations of results for the team and the public.
• Supervising of staff and students.
• Maintaining and organizing large amounts of genetic data and summary statistics.
• Perform all other job-related duties as assigned.
