Job summary

The Ye Lab at Virginia Tech is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate to join an NIH-funded project exploring how glioma hijacks the tumor microenvironment. The work focuses on astrocytes and their contribution to malignant progression, using mouse and human glioma models, advanced imaging, single-cell and spatial transcriptomics, and molecular biology.

The successful candidate will lead experiments from design to data analysis and presentations, and will help mentor technicians and students.

Qualifications

• PhD must be awarded within four years prior to appointment with at least one year remaining.
• Experience with in vivo mouse research.
• Experience with immunostaining and fluorescence microscopy.
• Familiarity with basic molecular biology techniques (e.g., cloning, Western blot).
• Experience with mammalian cell culture.
• Track record of first-author publications.

Responsibilities

• Lead research projects from experimental design to data analysis.
• Present findings in lab meetings, conferences, and seminars.
• Prepare manuscripts for peer‑reviewed publications.
• Mentor research technicians and students on the project.
