Boston University is seeking a Postdoctoral Associate in the Mechanical Engineering Department to advance next‑generation battery cell technology on-site at the Charles River Campus in Boston, MA. Qualifications

PhD required in a related field.
Strong experimental research background in at least two areas listed below.
Excellent communication skills required.
Interest in entrepreneurship strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop novel battery cell designs and architecture.
Electrochemical synthesis and deposition of materials.
Analyze electrochemical experiments and characterization results.
Perform and analyze flammability and safety tests on materials and devices.
Seal/coating, contacting, and packaging of sensitive energy storage devices.
Iterate and improve cell fabrication from materials to assembly methods.
Prepare frequent technical reports and present results to team and funders.
