Job summary

Frederick National Laboratory for Cancer Research seeks a PhD-level scientist within the Laboratory & Animal Sciences Program (LASP) to advance pre-clinical research in tissue engineering and organoid modeling. You will develop methods, optimize experiments, and document results under supervision.

You will contribute to novel technologies and potentially patentable work, collaborate with multiple departments, and stay current with state-of-the-art principles in biomedical engineering and imaging.

Qualifications

  • PhD required; foreign degrees evaluated for US equivalency
  • Expertise in tissue engineering or biomedical engineering principles
  • Experience with basic and advanced laboratory techniques and microscopy
  • Experience collecting, documenting data, and maintaining lab records
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance

Responsibilities

  • Executing assigned pre-clinical research and development strategies.
  • Developing methods and evaluation criteria for results.
  • Providing expertise and contributing to novel technologies and products.
  • Interfacing with colleagues and acting as a resource for less experienced staff.
  • Troubleshooting experiments and advising on critical assignments.
