Job summary

Florida State University’s Applied Superconductivity Center (NHMFL, OPS) invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate to perform nanostructural characterization with electron microscopy. The role focuses on understanding superconducting materials in tapes, wires, films and bulks using advanced instruments such as TEM/STEM and FIB-equipped systems.

Ideal candidates hold a PhD in a relevant field and have extensive TEM/STEM experience, FIB TEM sample prep, and strong communication

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. completed within the last three years.
  • Extensive TEM/STEM operation experience and TEM sample preparation.
  • Extensive experience preparing TEM specimens using FIB.

Responsibilities

  • Perform nanostructural characterization of superconducting materials using electron microscopy.
  • Utilize TEM/STEM, FIB and other instruments to study micro- to atomic-scale origins of superconductivity.
  • Collaborate with ASC/NHMFL teams and contribute to high-impact publications.
