Job summary
Florida State University’s NHMFL invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance ultrafast XUV spectroscopy under high magnetic fields in a leading magnet laboratory. You will work on instrumentation to produce, deliver and measure XUV light in samples within the 25 T Split-Florida Helix magnet.
The ideal candidate holds a PhD in a relevant field and has demonstrated expertise in ultrafast spectroscopy and related techniques.
Qualifications
- PhD in Physics, Chemistry, or related field.
- Experience in ultrafast optical spectroscopy including sample preparation and data acquisition.
- Experience with high-harmonic generation, XUV spectroscopy, or related ultrafast nonlinear optical techniques.
- Familiarity with cryogenic and vacuum technologies for low-temperature measurements.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to development of a novel platform combining ultrafast XUV spectroscopy with high magnetic fields.
- Collaborate with staff, external project PIs, MagLab users, graduate students and postdocs; publish manuscripts.
- Assist in development of external grant proposals; participate in related projects.
