Job summary

Qualifications

• Doctorate (Ph.D. or M.D./Ph.D.) in molecular biology, biochemistry, or related discipline.
• Strong background with technical skills in molecular biology, metabolism, and/or computational skills related to epigenomics.
• A track record of being published in internationally recognized peer-reviewed journals.
• Professional conduct with high scientific integrity and respect for others.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills necessary.
• Must be eligible to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Perform experiments using both cell culture and mouse models to answer research questions about metabolism and chromatin. These include transfections, making stable cell lines, protein isolation, western blotting, mouse genotyping and treatments.
• Perform molecular biology experiments including nucleic acid purification, plasmid construction, PCR, RT-qPCR.
• Design experiments to accomplish research objectives, along with keeping organized and detailed scientific records.
• Participate in scientific communication through presenting data at lab meetings, journal clubs, departmental seminars, and scientific meetings. Contribute to manuscript preparation and grant proposals through preparing figures and writing.
• Collaborate with others in the lab and contribute to overall lab operations including making buffers, maintaining equipment, cleanup of lab areas, monitoring usage and deliver of lab supplies.
