Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate to advance quantitative microscopy and live-cell chromatin imaging in developing neurons.

The position focuses on imaging-based biosensor development, lattice light-sheet and super-resolution approaches, and quantitative analysis pipelines in a collaborative setting with cell biologists and data scientists.

Qualifications

• PhD in cell biology, biophysics, gene regulation, neuroscience or related discipline.
• Experience in live-cell imaging, advanced microscopy, or related techniques.
• Interest in applying imaging-based approaches to chromatin organization and neuronal differentiation.
• Familiarity with quantitative image analysis using Python, MATLAB, R, Fiji/ImageJ, Imaris.
• Strong record of peer-reviewed publications.
• Experience with segmentation, tracking, or time-series analysis desirable.
• Ability to prepare, validate, document, and troubleshoot experiments.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced microscopy approaches to study chromatin-state dynamics in neurons.
• Optimize biosensor performance and microscopy acquisition.
• Conduct quantitative analysis of epigenetic modifications and nuclear organization.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to generate high-risk, high-reward experiments.
• Publish first-author papers and contribute to framework development.
