Job summary

University at Buffalo seeks a Postdoctoral Associate in Chemical & Biological Engineering to advance theoretical and computational research on lipid roles in biomolecular mechanisms and material properties.

The role focuses on developing simulation methods, applying data-driven analyses, and collaborating across disciplines to reveal cell membrane biophysics and lipid–protein dynamics.

Qualifications

• PhD in Chemical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Biophysics or related field with experience in biomolecular simulation techniques and scripting (Bash, Python).
• Demonstrated ability in molecular modelling, biophysics or material design, and experience with enhanced sampling techniques.
• Experience using high-performance computing clusters, preferably GPU-based computing.

Responsibilities

• Develop and apply advanced simulation techniques to study lipid–protein dynamics and membrane biophysics.
• Collaborate with experimental and computational researchers to interpret data and validate models.
• Contribute to publications and presentations in structural biology and biophysics.
