Job summary
Los Alamos National Laboratory in northern New Mexico is seeking a results-oriented Postdoctoral Appointee to advance scientific discovery in light-matter interactions and quantum photonics. You will join the Nanophotonics Thrust at the Center for Integrated Nanotechnologies and contribute to cutting-edge research.
On any given day you may design, fabricate, and characterize novel optical devices and systems, develop original research ideas, report results in top-tier journals and conferences,
Qualifications
- PhD awarded within the last 5 years or near completion.
- Experience with mid-IR spectroscopic characterization of surfaces and monitoring of chemical reactions.
- Strong understanding of strong light-matter coupling (cavity polaritons or localized resonances).
- Proven track record of original research, publications and conference presentations.
Responsibilities
- Support research in nanophotonics, quantum optics, metamaterials and nonlinear optics.
- Design, fabricate, and characterize optical devices, materials and systems.
- Develop original research ideas for nanoscale phenomena.
- Report research results in top-tier journals and conferences.
- Generate new intellectual property through patent filing.
