Job summary

The Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC) Department of Surgery, in collaboration with Hollings Cancer Center, invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in hepatocellular carcinoma, tumor immunology, and metabolism. The successful candidate will design and conduct in vivo mouse experiments, perform multiparameter flow cytometry, and contribute to publications and grants.

Qualifications

• PhD in a relevant field with strong hands-on research experience in cancer biology and immunology.
• Hands-on experience with mouse cancer models and flow cytometry techniques.
• Ability to independently design and conduct in vivo experiments and analyze data.

Responsibilities

• Animal Models and In Vivo Research - conduct mouse HCC experiments, tumor implantation, exercise interventions, treatments, monitoring, tissue collection.
• Flow Cytometry and Immunological Analysis - multiparameter flow cytometry, cell isolation, staining, acquisition, gating, characterization.
• Molecular Biology and Tissue Analysis - RNA isolation, PCR/qPCR, IHC, immunofluorescence, and single-cell prep.
• Data Analysis and Scientific Publications - analyze data, generate figures, draft manuscripts, present findings.
• Grant Development and Research Collaboration - contribute to grants, planning, and multidisciplinary collaborations.
