Job summary

Idaho National Laboratory in Idaho Falls is seeking one or more postdoctoral researchers in the Hydrogen and Electrochemistry Department to perform laboratory experiments for solid oxide cells at elevated temperatures. The team operates a 9x80 schedule at the Idaho Falls facility with every other Friday off.

The position requires expertise in protonic ceramics, oxygen-ion conducting cells, high-temperature electrocatalysis, and solid oxide cell fabrication, with collaboration across multiple

Qualifications

• PhD must be completed by start of appointment and within the last 5 years.
• Experience in high-temperature electrochemical system operation, data collection and interpretation.
• Experience with impedance spectroscopy, GC/MS, FTIR, Raman, and vibrational spectroscopy.
• Excellent oral and written English communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Conduct lab experiments on solid oxide cells at elevated temperatures.
• Collect, analyze, and interpret data; prepare reports and journal articles.
