The Cheng Lab at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is seeking a Postdoctoral Research Associate to explore fundamental mechanisms of gene regulation and genetic variation in human hematopoiesis and blood disorders.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in genetics, genomics, computational biology or related fields.
• Experience in single-cell genomics, gene regulation, chromatin biology, or computational genomics.
• Interdisciplinary background encouraged; strong communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Integrate single-cell multi-omics data to study gene regulation and cellular heterogeneity.
• Characterize how genetic and structural variation affects regulatory architecture and expression.
• Develop computational models to define regulatory networks and genotype-phenotype links.
• Perform CRISPR-based genetic and epigenetic perturbations to test regulatory elements.
• Translate discoveries into strategies for genome editing and genetic therapies.
