St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital in Memphis, TN invites applications for a Postdoctoral Research Associate in Hematology.

The successful candidate will investigate erythropoiesis, gene regulation, using model systems including cell culture, mouse models, and human blood-forming cells. Responsibilities include analyzing gene expression, developing cellular models for blood disorders, and exploring HIF1 roles; you will design experiments, interpret results, and publish findings with Dr.

Formación

• PhD or MD/PhD required.
• Strong laboratory skills in molecular biology and tissue culture.
• Collaborative team player willing to mentor and work with others.
• Bioinformatic skills and animal husbandry experience desirable.

Responsabilidades

• Analyze gene expression during erythropoiesis using molecular biology and informatics.
• Develop new cellular models for human blood disorders, including sickle cell disease.
• Study roles for HIF1 during erythropoiesis with Dr. Ruopeng Feng.
• Design and execute independent research projects with guidance from Dr. Weiss and an advisory committee.
• Potentially mentor students or interns; write grants and prepare manuscripts.
