Job summary

St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital’s Cheng Lab seeks a Postdoctoral Research Associate to uncover mechanisms of gene regulation and genetic variation in human hematopoiesis and blood disorders.

The successful candidate will apply single-cell multi-omics, functional genomics, and computational biology to map CREs, study variants, and test regulatory elements with CRISPR-based perturbations, aiming toward genome editing strategies.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD/PhD, or equivalent in genetics, genomics or related fields.
• Experience in single-cell genomics and computational genomics is valued.
• Background in gene regulation or genome engineering is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Integrate single-cell transcriptomic, epigenomic, and multi-omic data to understand gene regulation and cellular heterogeneity.
• Determine how genetic and structural variation alters cis-regulatory architecture and gene expression.
• Define regulatory networks and genotype-phenotype relationships through computational genomics.
• Functionally test regulatory elements and genetic variants using CRISPR-based perturbation.
• Translate discoveries in gene regulation into strategies for genome editing and therapies.
