Job summary

The Papagiannakopoulos (PapaG) Laboratory at the Salk Institute for Biological Studies seeks a motivated postdoctoral fellow to join an interdisciplinary program on how cancer communicates with the nervous system and body. You will contribute to brain-body-tumor axis research using mouse models, CRISPR, and immunology techniques.

• Ph.D. or MD/Ph.D. in neuroscience, immunology, cancer biology, or related field.
• Experience with neuroscience approaches to cancer biology.
• Strong enthusiasm for interdisciplinary research and independent scientific leadership.

Responsibilities

• Investigate neural sensing and control of tumor-associated inflammation and anti-tumor immunity.
• Study brain-body circuits regulating sickness, appetite, pain, and systemic metabolism in cancer.
• Develop new experimental models at the interface of cancer biology and neuroscience.
