Job summary

The University of Georgia’s Franklin-Geology invites applications for a Post-Doctoral Associate in Atom Probe Tomography (APT) of geo-materials. The successful candidate will set up and run an APT lab, undertake independent and collaborative research, and contribute to industry contracts.

Responsibilities include training users, co-advising PhD/MSc projects, data reduction programming for APT, and ensuring the instrument remains operational.

Qualifications

• PhD in Geo- or Materials-Science with 4+ years of Atom Probe Tomography experience.
• Experience writing programs for APT data reduction.
• Experience with instrument design and maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Running the APT lab for a wide academic and industry user base.
• Carry out independent research in addition to lab responsibilities.
• Co-advise PhD and MSc projects and train users in APT data reduction.
