University of Georgia is seeking a Post Doctoral Research Associate in Atom Probe Tomography within Geo-materials. The role involves running the APT lab for diverse academic and industry users and pursuing independent research initiatives.

Qualifications

  • PhD in Geo- or Materials-Science with minimum 4 years experience in Atom Probe Tomography of insulating materials.
  • Experience writing programs for APT data reduction and instrument design/maintenance is highly preferred.
  • Co-advise PhD/MSc projects and train users in APT data reduction.

Responsibilities

  • Run APT lab and samples for a wide academic and industry user base; generate industry funding as part of the position (80%).
  • Carry out independent research in addition to lab responsibilities (20%).
