Job summary

GE Vernova Advanced Research is seeking a Post Doctoral researcher to develop and apply cutting-edge computational methods for multi-physics, multi-scale systems. You will drive high-fidelity simulations, create ML-augmented algorithms, and help build digital twins for power and electrification domains.

The role collaborates with experimentalists and domain experts to validate models and accelerate design, with opportunities to contribute to proposals and publish results.

Qualifications

• PhD required in a relevant field (Mechanical Eng., Aerospace Eng., Applied Math., Computational Science or related).
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. without sponsorship; willingness to work at the Niskayuna, NY office.

Responsibilities

• Independently conduct research and develop advanced computational models and simulation tools for complex physical systems.
• Apply and extend high-fidelity simulation methods including CFD, heat transfer, reactive flows, and combustion.
• Develop numerical algorithms including ML-enhanced simulations and reduced-order modeling.
• Verify and validate models against experimental data.
• Collaborate with experimentalists and domain experts for data integration and calibration.
• Advance GE Vernova’s digital engineering capabilities including digital twins and model-based systems engineering.
• Explore technologies like GPU-accelerated computing and uncertainty quantification.
• Communicate results through reports, publications, and presentations.
• Support proposals for GE Vernova businesses and government agencies.
• Stay aligned with global advances in computational science.
