Job summary

Royal Mail in Ferndale is seeking a Postie (Postal Delivery Driver) for a fixed-term 6-month contract. The role involves sorting mail, delivering by van and on foot across the local area, building relationships with customers, and working outdoors in all weather conditions.

You'll need a full manual UK driving licence (up to 6 penalty points), be physically fit to walk long distances and lift/move bags, and stay reliable and self-motivated on a rotating schedule, including Sundays.

You'll work on a rotating shift schedule, including some weekends. Your rota will confirm your hours and delivery routes, which may vary based on demand.

You'll be required to work one in three Sundays atPontypridd Delivery Office, CF37 1AA.

About you

We'll provide full training, a uniform, and an iconic red van. You'll need:

• A full manual UK driving licence (maximum 6 penalty points, registered to your current name and address)
• Willingness to drive a Royal Mail van daily and able to pass a driving assessment
• Physically fit and comfortable walking long distances, climbing stairs / hills, and lifting / carrying 10kg+ mailbags
• Reliable and self-motivated
• Strong organisation and resilience in a busy environment
• Customer-focused, with pride in delivering great service
• Comfortable working outdoors and independently
