Job summary

Summa Health System – Akron Campus seeks an RN for the H6 Post-Surgical Progressive Care Unit. This full-time role runs 11p-7:30a, 40 hours weekly with no weekends or holidays, in a 36-bed unit serving orthopedic, bariatric, neuro-spine, cardiothoracic, and trauma patients post-surgery.

The nurse provides and coordinates care, supports family education, and participates in a 12‑month residency program for new grads. A strong team, competitive pay, and comprehensive benefits accompany the role.

Qualifications

• ADN required; BSN preferred.
• Current Ohio RN license to practice.
• CCNE or ACEN accredited program graduate.
• ACLS within six months and maintained once hired.

Responsibilities

• Provides, coordinates and delegates nursing care and manages resources to deliver safe, effective care.
• Assesses patient needs, documents findings, and supports families in understanding care plans.
• Maintains clinical competencies and adheres to unit protocols in a 36-bed post‑surgical progressive care setting.
