Job summary

Summer Search Boston is seeking a Post-Secondary Mentor to support high school seniors and first-year graduates as they navigate college, vocational tracks, gap years, or workforce transitions. You will mentor students, design post-secondary programming, and contribute to data-driven outcomes in a small, collaborative team.

You will mentor 12th graders and 1st-year post-high-school participants, conduct mentoring sessions, and utilize a career resource portal to build readiness and pathways

Qualifications

  • At least 2 years of professional experience serving first-generation students from low-income backgrounds and/or communities of color.
  • Group facilitation experience strongly desired.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for leading workshops and mentoring groups.
  • Understanding of adolescent development and restorative/transformative justice concepts is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Mentor a caseload of 17-24 year-olds (12th grade to first year post-high school) with individualized plans.
  • Provide 1:1 mentoring and group mentoring workshops; adapt workshops to cohort needs.
  • Support program design, delivery, and curriculum updates for post-secondary pathways.
  • Manage and track participant data, outcomes, and engagement; support evaluation activities.
  • Lead outreach and workshop presentations for prospective students and collaborate with school and community partners.
