Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Nursing is required.
• Active New York State RN license is required.
• BLS, ACLS & PALS will be obtained during introductory period.
• 6–12 months critical care experience or 1 year recovery experience.

Responsibilities

• Prep & Recovery RN cares for patients receiving anesthesia and recovering from anesthesia.
• Monitor pre and post-operation vital signs and assess levels of consciousness.
• Observe for side effects from anesthesia and document findings.
• Prioritize both expected and unanticipated needs in patient care.
• Evaluate effectiveness of care and maintain compliant clinical documentation.
• Recognize priorities within patient care and act accordingly.
