The Rector & Visitors of the University of Virginia (UVA Health) is seeking an Advanced Practice Provider to manage post-surgical patients on a 12-hour inpatient Step-Down unit. The role emphasizes independent and collaborative care, comprehensive assessments, and coordination across specialties.

Full-time schedule includes nights and weekends on a rotating basis. Qualifications include a master's degree in nursing or a physician assistant program and Virginia APRN/PA licensure with appropriate

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited graduate school of nursing or physician assistant program with a master's degree.
• Licensure as an Advance Practice Provider (Nurse Practitioner, Physician Assistant, CRNA, CNM) per Virginia requirements.
• Current BLS; ACLS/PALS/NRP as required by position.

Responsibilities

• Provide independent and collaborative care to post-surgical patients.
• Perform histories, physical exams, diagnostics, and ongoing management.
• Coordinate testing, referrals, and follow-up care.
• Participate in education and post-surgical follow-up care.
• Contribute to quality improvement, research, and education within the department of surgery.
