Qualifications

• Criminal defense experience in state/local practice.

Overview

We are seeking an admitted attorney for a Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position within a premier law firm with room for growth. This role offers experience in both criminal and immigration law and opportunities to advance within the firm in the Rancho Cucamonga area. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will report to the Supervising Attorney and handle post-conviction relief matters, manage a caseload, and interact with clients, collaborating with the Post-Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their case.
• Handle post-conviction relief matters, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
• Experience with immigration law is desirable but not required, as the role involves interactions with both criminal and immigration practices.
• Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategy recommendations to clients after each hearing.
• Manage open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing, on behalf of other criminal attorneys within the firm.
• Manage court appearances, draft motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research.
• Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents.
• Manage workload and provide legal analysis for clients to determine possible case benefits.

Qualifications

• Criminal defense experience or immigration law experience.
• Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
• A team player who collaborates with fellow associates and supports firm objectives.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required.
• Strong interpersonal skills.

Compensation & Benefits

Pay Range: $80,000 to $110,000 annual salary

Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case-by-case basis.
