Job Overview
We're looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising Post Conviction Relief Attorney (Crimmigration) position within a premier law firm with lots of room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain valuable experience in both criminal and immigration law and further their career with an established firm in the Southern California area. As the Post Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney.
Responsibilities
- Advise clients on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their cases.
- Handle post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, and early termination of probation.
- Leverage immigration law experience, if available, to support cross‑practice collaboration.
- Attend motion hearings and advise clients on strategy following each hearing.
- Manage open criminal cases for other criminal attorneys, including arraignments, pre‑trials, pleas and sentencing.
- Draft motions, interview clients, and conduct legal research.
- Analyze probable outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents.
- Maintain workload and manage case caseload efficiently.
- Provide legal analysis to determine potential case benefits for clients.
Qualifications
- Experience in criminal defense or immigration law.
- Handling criminal cases at the state and local level.
- Team‑player mentality, open to advising and collaborating with fellow associates.
- Proficiency in English/Spanish preferred but not required.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
Pay Range: $80,000 to $100,000 annual salary
Pay ranges can be exceeded depending on experience on a case‑by‑case basis.
