Overview

We’re looking for an admitted attorney for an extremely promising Post-Conviction Relief Attorney position within a premier law firm with room for growth. This is an opportunity for a dedicated Associate Attorney to gain experience in criminal and immigration law and advance with an established firm in Los Angeles. As the Post-Conviction Relief Attorney, you will report to the Supervising Attorney. We’re seeking an attorney with prior litigation and/or appellate experience to handle post-conviction relief. The Post-Conviction Relief Attorney will manage their caseload and client interactions, and collaborate with the Post-Conviction Relief Team of Attorneys and legal assistants.

Responsibilities
  • Advise the client on their legal rights and draft legal documents related to their case
  • Manage post-conviction relief cases, including motions to vacate, expungements, motions to reduce, early termination of probation, etc.
  • Experience with immigration law is highly desirable, but not required, as this position interacts with both criminal and immigration practices
  • Attend motion hearings on behalf of clients and advise clients on strategies after each hearing
  • Handle open criminal cases, including arraignments, pre-trials, pleas, and sentencing in collaboration with other criminal attorneys
  • Manage court appearances, drafting motions, interviewing clients, and performing legal research
  • Analyze probable outcomes of cases using knowledge of legal precedents
  • Manage workload of cases
  • Provide legal analysis for clients to determine potential case benefits
Qualifications
  • Criminal Defense Experience or Immigration Law Experience
  • Experience handling criminal cases at the state and local level
  • Team player who is open to helping, strategizing, and working with fellow associates
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred but not required
  • Interpersonal skills of a high caliber
Pay and Benefits

Pay Range: $85,000 +
