Qualifications

  • One to three years prior experience with closing under HUD/FHA mortgage insurance programs.
  • Knowledge of Ginnie Mae mortgage backed securities program.
  • Highly developed analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple and changing priorities.
  • Exceptional commitment to customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinates conference calls with internal and external parties to organize the closing process.
  • Collects, reviews, and processes due diligence documentation and ensures compliance with funding and securitization conditions.
  • Coordinates with underwriting and legal teams the timely and accurate submission of draft loan closing documents for review and approval.
  • Coordinates and prepares loan amendments and updates to closing documents to reflect changes in deal structure, legal descriptions, costs, and other material terms, ensuring consistency between underwriting, legal documents, and closing figures throughout the closing process.
  • Interfaces with origination, underwriting, servicing, and management teams; maintains complete and accurate closing files in accordance with internal and agency requirements.
  • Monitors loan closing clearance processes and ensures adherence to agency deadlines, guidelines, and closing requirements, including coordination with internal and external parties to meet required timelines.
  • Keeps management and other parties informed of potential issues or delays and identifies, escalates, and helps resolve closing issues related to documentation, third parties, or compliance requirements.
  • Coordinates insurance review with third-party vendor, obtains compliant insurance certificates, and analyzes tax and insurance escrows.
  • Prepares loan closing statements and reviews and reconciles closing costs, sources and uses, and third-party invoices to ensure accuracy and alignment with approved underwriting.
  • Coordinates loan funding with warehouse lender and loan escrow and disbursement with title agent/company.
  • Assists in coordinating pre-closing requirements and meetings (e.g., pre-construction conference) to support closing readiness.
  • Prepares and transmits closed loan and pool information to servicing and assists in post-closing processes as necessary.
  • Maintains internal reports, pipeline, and project status board/notes and participates in weekly staff pipeline calls.
  • Participates in continuous process improvement efforts and performs other duties as assigned

Description

The Closing Analyst plays a critical role in managing and executing the loan closing process from pre-closing through post-closing.
