San Joaquin College of Law invites a Post Bar Law Clerk under the Clinic Director to develop legal analysis, interview clients, prepare filings for USCIS and EOIR, and support students and staff in removal defense cases.

The role requires J.D. and awaiting California Bar results, willingness to work nights and weekends, travel within the Central Valley and to Immigration Court in San Francisco and Los Angeles, and strong Microsoft skills; bilingual Spanish is a plus.

Qualifications

• J.D.; awaiting California Bar results.
• Ability to work nights and weekends as needed.
• Valid driver's license and travel within Central Valley.
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft products skills.
• Typing speed of 35–40 words per minute.

Responsabilités

• Interview potential clients and assess immigration relief.
• Prepare filings for USCIS and EOIR.
• Review immigration forms for issues based on the forms.
• Draft and review declarations for multiple forms of relief.
• Ensure files are well organized; update case notes in CMS; track deadlines.
• Conduct thorough legal research and present analysis on immigration law.
• Manage and coordinate case management for 100–150 cases.
• Attend trainings and report updates to the NALC Director and team.
• Travel to immigration court in SF/LA/Concord/Sacramento as required.
• Assist and mentor law students/clerks in the clinic.
