San Joaquin College of Law’s Post Bar - New American Legal Clinic in Clovis is seeking a law clerk who has taken the California Bar exam. You will interview potential clients, analyze relief options, and prepare filings for USCIS and EOIR, supporting the clinic’s staff and students.

The ideal candidate holds a J.D. and has bar results pending, with the ability to travel within the Central Valley to detention facilities and to immigration court in SF/LA. Occasional nights/weekends may be required.

Qualifications

• Ability to conduct legal research and analysis in immigration law.
• Maintain confidentiality and provide client-focused service.
• Excellent judgment, organization, and attention to detail.

Responsabilités

• Interview potential clients and analyze their case for relief.
• Prepare filings for USCIS and EOIR.
• Review forms promptly to identify issues and draft declarations.
• Enter notes and case status, tracking deadlines in the system.
• Conduct legal research and present analysis on immigration topics.
• Manage 100-150 cases and coordinate case management.
• Attend trainings and hearings, traveling as required.
