The Post Bac Research Assistant is responsible for supporting the faculty members by conducting library and archival research, literature reviews, managing bibliographic data, maintaining files, transcribing archival sources and oral history interviews, and proofreading and acting as a liaison between the Great Plains Action Society in Iowa City and a spring Grinnell Course on Intentional Communities.
Library and archival work will be conducted primarily at the University of Iowa Libraries in Iowa City. Occasional work may be conducted at Grinnell College Library in Grinnell and the Herbert Hoover Presidential Library in West Branch Iowa. Research may include a few research day trips with the faculty member to visit Rockford University’s Archives, including the Jane Addams and Hull-House Collection, in Rockford Illinois.
This role will be not more than 18 hours per week, with a total of 975 hours per year.
