Job summary

The Department of Surgery within UW School of Medicine and Public Health at the University of Wisconsin–Madison is hiring a Post-Award Accountant to join the Research Administration team. You will budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs, working directly with principal investigators and research staff.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Experience with complex automated accounting systems and processes.

Responsibilities

• Reviews financial expenditures for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts
• Assists principal investigators with financial management of sponsored program budgets and directs day-to-day fiscal transactions
• Facilitate with UW RSP any fiscal award management tasks.
• Complete UW Campus and SMPH requested financial tasks.
• Prepares and processes financial reporting and/or invoicing information
• Provides expertise and advice related to procurement and allowable charges
