Job summary

University of Wisconsin–Madison is hiring a Post-Award Accountant in the Department of Surgery to support the Research Administration team. You will budget, monitor expenditures, and reconcile financial data for sponsored programs, collaborating with principal investigators and staff.

The role may involve processing accounting tasks such as cost transfers, procurement, sub award management, and related financial processing. Attention to detail and clear communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of relevant accounting experience required.
• Effective written and oral communication skills.
• Experience working with complex automated accounting systems and processes, including database or query.

Responsibilities

• Reviews financial expenditures for accuracy on sponsored grants and contracts
• Assists principal investigators with financial management of sponsored program budgets and directs day-to-day fiscal transactions
• Facilitate with UW RSP any fiscal award management tasks
• Complete UW Campus and SMPH requested financial tasks
• Prepares and processes financial reporting and/or invoicing information
• Provides expertise and advice related to procurement and allowable charges
