University of South Carolina seeks a Post Award Accountant to manage a portfolio of sponsored awards, ensuring fiscal integrity and compliance with sponsor and institutional requirements. You will guide Principal Investigators and departments through the post-award lifecycle and perform related accounting duties.
Requires a bachelor’s degree and 3+ years of related experience, with ERP experience such as PeopleSoft preferred.

Job Duty Monitor sponsored award expenses to ensure charges are allowable, allocable, reasonable, consistent, and within budget, ensuring compliance with award, sponsor, and institutional requirements. Provide financial guidance and support to Principal Investigators and departmental staff by fielding inquiries, interpreting award, sponsor, institutional requirements and assisting in resolving financial issues. Perform accounting and administrative duties related to sponsored awards, including maintaining accurate records, preparing journal entries, and completing timely closeouts.

Job Duty Review and analyze Notices of Award to interpret terms and conditions, award restrictions, sponsor requirements, and complication obligations, ensuring accurate award setup and ongoing financial management in accordance with award, sponsor, institutional, and regulatory requirements. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on award requirements and milestones.

Assist in the development, documentation, and maintenance of program performance standards, including best practices and standard operating procedures, to ensure knowledge transfer and understanding.
