Job summary

Child & Family Services in Massachusetts seeks a Post Adoption Worker to join a regional team delivering home-based interventions, support groups, and respite activities for adoptive and guardianship families. 35 hours per week with salary starting at $25.50/hour for a bachelor’s degree and $30.00/hour for a master’s degree.

The role requires a bachelor’s in social work or related field, and at least three years in advocacy/casework; master’s degree preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
• Minimum of three years' advocacy or casework experience in a human service agency
• Master's degree preferred
• Knowledge of family systems
• Adoption experience desirable

Responsibilities

• Participation in the Regional Response Team providing home-based intensive family stabilization for adoptive and guardianship families
• Provide strengths-based psycho-social assessment of family needs and resources
• Maintain a flexible work schedule
• Advocate and coordinate to help families access long-term supportive services
• Provide second stage information and referrals to families and professionals
• Design and implement support groups for adoptive families
• Develop a network of respite providers and resources and coordinate training for them
• Create a team of adoptive parents or parent/young adult liaisons and train them
• Coordinate and provide training to mental health and human service professionals
• Assist Regional Manager with regional support services and program marketing
• Enter data and maintain records in Journeys database
• Perform other duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor's degree in social work or related field
