Job summary

Caterpillar Inc. in Mossville, IL, is seeking an engineer to develop positioning and control algorithms for a system using Simulink and C++.

You will run simulations, create automated tests, and document design work, communicating results to team and customers. A Master's degree in engineering, CS, or materials science is strongly preferred, with emphasis on analytical skills and embedded control software expertise.

What You Will Do:

Development of Positioning and Control algorithms for a system utilizing Simulink models and C++ softwarePerform simulations to validate model developmentCreating automated software testsWriting, maintaining and archiving design documents, models, source code and other work products necessary for the projectCommunicate designs and analysis results to customers, suppliers, team members, and other stakeholdersContribute to the design of new products and processes; perform product and process maintenance

  • Experience with sensing technology like IMU's, GNSS receivers, laser receivers, or UTS systems.
  • Experience with real-time operating systems

  • Experience with software development of real-time embedded control systems
  • Must have ability to communicate effectively with team members and others in the work group, as well employees in other units, customers, and suppliers.
  • Master's degree in an Engineering, Computer Science, or Materials Science curriculum

The location for this position is Mossville, ILRelocation assistance is available for this position. This position will require less than 10% travel. Visa sponsorship is NOT available for this position.
