Job summary

84 Lumber is rolling out a next-generation Point of Sale platform across its store network. The Business Analyst on the IT Deployment Team will deploy, train, and support the new system, working directly with store teams to configure software and ensure staff are confident with the new tools from day one.

The role combines technology, process improvement, and people skills to drive successful adoption, with hands-on training at store sites and ongoing documentation for future deployments.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years in business analysis, IT deployment, training, or related roles.
• Strong communication and facilitation skills; able to teach technology to non-technical users.
• Translate 84 Lumber operational workflows into software configurations.
• Detail-oriented with solid documentation and planning abilities.
• Willing to travel approximately 30% to store locations.
• Experience in retail technology deployment or enterprise app rollouts is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Organize and drive end-to-end rollout of new POS technology to store locations
• Build rollout plan and report status and progress
• Map warehouse layouts to the POS system to optimize workflows
• Travel to stores to conduct hands-on training for staff on POS interfaces
• Create and maintain training materials, user guides, and process documentation
• Train helpdesk on functionality and support
• Provide post-deployment support and drive adoption
• Collect feedback to inform system improvements and future rollouts
• Collaborate with IT and vendor partners on configuration, testing, QA
• Support future applications on the platform as the program expands
