Job summary

New Narrative seeks a Development Director to lead our private fundraising program and expand philanthropic support in the Portland area. This hands-on role builds relationships with individual donors, corporate partners, and foundations, and drives annual giving, sponsorships, and major events.

The Director supervises the Development team and collaborates with leaders, grant writers, and programs to maximize impact while protecting confidential information and ensuring follow-through.

Qualifications

• Approximately 4–5 years of progressively responsible fundraising or related revenue experience.
• Proven success cultivating and soliciting individual donors, corporate partners, or sponsors.
• Experience with fundraising campaigns, sponsorships, donor stewardship, and events.

Responsibilities

• Lead New Narrative's private fundraising program and grow philanthropic support.
• Develop and manage a pipeline of donors, partners, and foundations; cultivate and solicit gifts.
