Job summary

Janney Montgomery Scott LLC is seeking a Head of Portfolio and Value Management to drive technology strategy through intake operations, demand and capacity modeling, and governance. Qualifications

• 8+ years in technology portfolio management, PMO leadership, program management, or similar capacity/demand management.
• Demonstrated skill in lean business case construction, benefit measurement, and capacity/financial modeling.
• Experience running or supporting an investment governance forum (portfolio council, investment committee) — preparing decision packages and tracking execution.
• Comfort operating without command authority: prepares decisions, surfaces risk, and holds a service level.

Responsibilities

• Own and continuously improve the intake process from initial demand submission through gate qualification.
• Maintain the portfolio backlog and demand record as the single source of truth for submitted, qualified, funded, and completed initiatives.
• Track the value confirmation gate to closure for funded initiatives and report realized benefits with Finance.
• Maintain the consolidated view of capacity across technology and data office allocations, refreshed ahead of quarterly cycles.
• Serve as secretariat to Portfolio Investment Council and Monthly Portfolio Checkpoint, preparing decision packages and tracking execution.
• Maintain cross-initiative dependency map and surface conflicts early for resolution.
• Own automated, delivery-system-sourced metric set and publish a real-time view of portfolio health and risk.
• Provide stakeholders with a transparent view of demand status and dependencies, enabling informed decisions.
