Job summary

Altius Search Group is seeking a Portfolio Analyst to evaluate portfolio performance, monitor borrower performance, and support sound credit and portfolio management decisions.

The role will analyze the quality, performance, and risk characteristics of the financial portfolio, collaborating with multiple departments to develop strategies that protect assets and support responsible growth.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related discipline.
• At least three years of experience in portfolio analysis or related financial services role.
• Strong financial statement analysis and credit assessment capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and financial modeling.
• Ability to interpret complex data and communicate findings clearly.
• Experience with risk-rating methodologies and portfolio performance metrics.
• Background in data analytics, including regression analysis or similar techniques.
• Experience in equipment leasing, commercial lending, or asset-based finance.
• Familiarity with business development and commercial decision-making.
• Experience with credit scorecards or automated decisioning tools preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyze portfolio performance, including delinquency levels, defaults, loss trends, concentrations, and exposure limits.
• Identify early warning indicators and emerging credit or operational risk areas.
• Review financial statements, payment history, and borrower performance to evaluate creditworthiness.
• Recommend changes to risk ratings based on financial performance and other factors.
• Develop action plans to reduce portfolio risk and improve performance.
• Produce recurring portfolio reports, trend analyses, and management presentations.
• Collaborate with Credit, Sales, Operations, and Asset Management on portfolio strategy and risk-mitigation initiatives.
• Provide analysis and information for credit committee discussions.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of credit policies, scorecards, and decisioning processes.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation per internal policies and audits.
• Assist with portfolio analytics, financial modeling, and strategic planning.
