Job summary

Opportunity Finance Network (OFN) is seeking a Portfolio Associate in Washington, D.C. to support oversight of on- and off-balance sheet loans and investments, perform financial analysis, ensure data integrity, and provide portfolio reporting with strong customer service to borrowers.

You will collaborate across Investment Services teams, assist with borrower reviews, and help monitor risk, trends, and compliance using tools like Salesforce and Excel in a hybrid work environment.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or related field; 3–5 years of experience in lieu of a degree.
  • 2–4 years of experience in financial analysis, credit risk, or portfolio monitoring; CDFI or mission-driven lending preferred.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management systems (Salesforce) and Excel.
  • Knowledge of the CDFI industry and mission-driven finance preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Manage borrower reporting and covenant compliance, including collection and review of financial statements and covenant worksheets.
  • Review borrower compliance worksheets against loan covenants and flag issues to senior staff.
  • Provide training and technical support to borrowers on compliance reporting templates and submissions.
  • Perform annual credit reviews of borrowers, including analysis of audited statements and ratio calculations.
  • Spread borrower financials into OFN’s templates and prepare quarterly/annual performance trackers.
  • Analyze portfolio trends and identify vulnerabilities from borrower ratios and external factors.
  • Prepare waiver and modification requests with initial analyses and senior staff support.
  • Present waivers and modifications to credit approval bodies with senior staff.
  • Assist in monitoring watchlist loans and early warning signs of distress.
  • Prepare quarterly/annual portfolio reports and committee packages.
  • Ensure data accuracy in portfolio management systems (Salesforce, Excel).
  • Assist in scheduling Credit Review and Investment Committee meetings and record minutes.
  • Support internal and external portfolio reporting, including third-party reviews.
