Job summary

Morgan Stanley is seeking a SMA Reconciliation Operations Associate for Parametric, combining portfolio reconciliation with rigorous data handling. The role emphasizes accuracy, autonomy, and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a hybrid model (office 3 days a week, remote the rest).

The ideal candidate has 4+ years in financial services, strong Excel/VBA skills, and experience with large datasets, Advent APX, SQL or Alteryx is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, or related area of study.
• 4+ years of work experience in Financial Services.
• Competent in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
• Exceptional interpersonal and professional skills with strong communication.
• Ability to work independently under tight deadlines and manage large data sets.
• Experience with VBA and Excel macros or other technology is a plus.
• Advent APX & SQL experience a plus.
• Alteryx experience/certification a plus.

Responsibilities

• Reconciling client portfolios against custody statements and sources.
• Resolving variances promptly and understanding risk to escalate when needed.
• Documenting written processes and procedures.
• Handling large datasets (100,000+ rows) in Excel with expert techniques.
• Internal and external reporting; maintain client records and files.
• Communicating with internal/external parties to resolve issues.
