Job summary

Hennepin Healthcare is seeking a PMO Manager to lead the Portfolio & Project Management Office, establishing project management standards and overseeing the enterprise project portfolio. The role focuses on strategy, governance, and delivering value through effective prioritization and resource planning.

You will influence executive alignment, drive capacity planning, and ensure consistent delivery of projects that support exceptional patient care and organizational objectives.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, MIS or related field is required.
  • Seven years of professional-level experience in a leadership role.
  • Five years of project management, operations planning, and/or process improvement experience.

Responsibilities

  • Leads the PMO to define, communicate, and enforce project management processes and capacity planning.
  • Coordinates executive leadership toward enterprise project portfolio prioritization and approval.
  • Provides governance, reporting, and guidance on portfolio performance and capacity planning.
  • Develops and refines practices for consistent project tracking, resource capacity, and major work.
  • Identifies capabilities to inform strategic initiative planning and portfolio optimization.

The scope of responsibility for the PMO department is to oversee project intake and oversight, project delivery frameworks and methodology, project management, project management staffing, process refinement, reporting, and compliance for the enterprise project portfolio.The Portfolio & Project Management Office Manager is a forward-looking leader who thinks strategically about the enterprise project portfolio, recommending future direction and, in partnership with operations, leads the development of roadmaps, incorporating the current healthcare and technology environment, regulations, trends, and impacts to Hennepin Healthcare.
