The Portfolio Operations Associate plays a key role in Evergreen's investment process by executing trades, monitoring account allocations, and administering compliance-related restrictions across client portfolios. This position serves as a back-up trader for the firm and works closely with the head trader, Associate Portfolio Manager, Chief Compliance Officer and Chief Investment Officer, to ensure trades and accounts are handled accurately and in accordance with client mandates and regulatory requirements. This position reports to the Head Trader / Director of Trading. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, process-driven, and comfortable operating with a high degree of autonomy in a fast-paced environment. This is an in-office role.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as back-up trader, executing and overseeing trades across various custodians and trading platforms in the absence of, or alongside, the primary trader, ensuring precision and compliance with investment mandates.
- Review and reconcile account allocations following trades to confirm accuracy across all client accounts and custodians.
- Monitor, implement, and document client-specific investment restrictions, escalating exceptions or potential violations as needed.
- Perform ongoing compliance-related account tasks, including pre- and post-trade compliance checks, restricted list monitoring, and maintenance of related records.
- Support daily trade reconciliation and resolve trade breaks or settlement issues with custodians in a timely manner.
- Assist in the maintenance and enhancement of trading and portfolio management systems, workflows, and databases.
- Collaborate with the investment team and Compliance department to support portfolio construction, rebalancing, and account maintenance activities.
- Prepare and maintain accurate records of trading activity, restrictions, and allocations for internal review and regulatory purposes.
- Assist with ad hoc projects related to trading operations, compliance monitoring, and process improvement.
- Utilize artificial intelligence to enhance and support investment research initiatives and projects.
Required Qualifications
- Strong attention to detail, with a demonstrated ability to catch and correct errors in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment and collaborate across departments.
- Minimum 2 years of related experience in trading operations, portfolio administration, compliance, or a similar role at an investment firm, broker-dealer, or RIA.
- High integrity and a strong sense of responsibility when handling client accounts and sensitive information.
- Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field.
- Working knowledge of trade execution, account restrictions, and investment compliance concepts.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and portfolio management or trading platforms.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with a portfolio management/trading system (e.g., Tamarac, Orion, Black Diamond, or similar) and custodial trading platforms (e.g., Schwab, Fidelity).
- Prior experience supporting a trading function within an RIA or broker-dealer.
- Familiarity with account restriction coding, tax-loss harvesting logistics, or model portfolio rebalancing.

Compensation
$75,000 - $110,000 plus bonus
