Job summary

A community-driven financial institution in Longmont is seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager. This role involves managing a portfolio of commercial loans, conducting credit analysis, and maintaining strong client relationships. The ideal candidate should have at least 2 years of credit analysis experience and a good understanding of loan documentation. The position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $95,000, along with excellent benefits. In-person work is required on weekdays from 8 AM to 5 PM.

We are seeking a skilled Portfolio Manager to join our collaborative Longmont Team.

Your Mission:

As a Portfolio Manager, you will be a trusted advisor for our business customers, working closely with them to understand their financial needs and provide solutions. Underwriting loans and monitoring loan performance, identifying potential risks and taking proactive steps to mitigate losses, and maintaining customer relationships will be the heart of your role.

The Day-to-Day:

Your days will be dynamic and engaging, focused on building relationships and ensuring the smooth operation of your loan portfolio. You'll work closely with clients on loan requests and renewals, carefully analyzing financial information and crafting solutions that meet their specific needs. You'll also dedicate time to monitoring existing loans, clearing exceptions, and proactively addressing any potential issues. Collaboration with your team is key, as you'll share insights, strategize, and celebrate successes together.

What You Bring to High Plains Bank:

Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in credit analysis or a related field.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience with commercial loan documentation and underwriting.

Essential Skills and Knowledge:

  • Strong understanding of credit analysis, financial statements, and loan documentation.
  • Good communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Knowledge of banking regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Familiarity with portfolio management software.
Responsibilities of the Position:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of commercial loans, monitoring performance, and mitigating risks.
  • Credit analysis and underwriting for assigned portfolio of relationships.
  • Ensure rigorous and compliant credit management.
  • Support credit administration team with reports, audits and exams.

Other Responsibilities:

  • Ensure maintenance of complete files for the purpose of ongoing management of the relationship.
  • Lead on renewals, changes in terms, loan modifications, annual reviews and graded credits for assigned portfolio.
  • Prepare loan presentations for loan committee.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure efficient loan processing.
  • Stay informed about industry trends and best practices.

Target compensation range

$65,000 to $95,000 per year based on experience and qualifications - other factors may be considered
