Job summary

New Profit is seeking a strategic manager and analytical problem‑solver to join the Portfolio Performance and Support (PPS) team in Boston. You will build systems for a robust grant pipeline, manage due diligence on potential grantees, and help align selection with portfolio goals.

The role reports to a New Profit Partner and may supervise Associates, with a requirement of five+ years in nonprofits, philanthropy, consulting, or an advanced degree. A competitive salary and benefits are offered.

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of relevant professional experience (e.g., nonprofits, philanthropy, management consulting, venture capital) and/or advanced degree.
Experience with qualitative and basic quantitative analysis.
Strong project management and highly organized.
Ability to communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders and manage multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

Coordinate with New Profit senior leaders to ensure pipeline building and selection activities reflect grant-making priorities and portfolio targets.
Serve as main point of contact for grant-making inquiries; conduct discovery calls and vet potential grantees; create systems to capture/analyze information.
Manage the evaluation process for potential grantees; provide guidance on diligence; prepare memos/presentations.
Facilitate meetings with grants advisory council to drive grant-making decisions; capture learning for process improvements.
Support onboarding of new portfolio organizations at end of selection; help execute portfolio strategy and operations.
