Job summary

NEWSPRING CAPITAL INC is seeking an experienced finance and accounting value creation leader to support portfolio companies on financial infrastructure, reporting quality, and operational rigor. You will partner directly with portfolio company CFOs and finance teams through due diligence, integration and exit preparation.

Qualifications

• 15-20 years of progressive finance and accounting experience.
• Public accounting background (Big 4 or large regional firm) - CPA preferred.
• Prior CFO role at a private equity-backed company and/or reporting to a PE sponsor.
• Experience scaling finance functions in growth, transformation, or turnaround contexts.
• Strong technical accounting knowledge (GAAP, M&A-related accounting).
• Experience with ERP implementations and financial systems selection.
• Ability to operate across multiple portfolio companies and act in an advisory capacity.
• Excellent communication with deal teams, management, and boards.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a hands-on finance and accounting leader across the portfolio with CFOs and finance teams.
• Partner with deal teams during diligence on finance organization and EBO/integration planning.
• Lead 100-day finance function assessments post-close to identify gaps in infrastructure, systems, and controls.
• Advise on finance organization design, shared services, and scalable processes.
• Drive scalable accounting processes, month-end close improvements, and audit readiness.
• Advise on technical accounting matters (revenue recognition, purchase accounting, carve-outs).
• Strengthen balance sheet management, including liquidity forecasting and covenant compliance.
• Support ERP and finance systems selection and implementation decisions.
• Standardize KPI reporting, budgeting, FP&A, and management reporting across the portfolio.
• Support board materials and collaboration with audit, tax, and advisors.
• Assist in recruiting CFOs/controllers and provide interim leadership as needed.
• Support exit readiness and portfolio-wide reporting with internal teams.
